My interest in the relationship of form and color in our environment, led me to explore linear pure abstraction and color field painting. My art is not about symbols or representation, but rather about the relationship of color to form and of an object in relation to the space it occupies. William Libby in his book Color and the Structural Sense points out that “most of us have immunized ourselves to color nuances which are alive and dynamic in nature, responding to them vaguely if at all” and as a result color has lost its purity because of the abundance of shape, tone, shade, and objects in the space we live in.
